Top 10 Reasons to NOT Take Toddlers on a Beach Vacation

Given our recent trip to the beach, I have decided to give you the...

Top Ten Reasons to NOT Take Toddlers on a Beach Vacation:

1."When will we be there?" cried every 5 minutes during a 4 1/2 hour drive.

2. They go to sleep in the car on the trip down and then don't want to go to bed when you finally arrive because of pure excitement.

3. As posted on yesterday's 'Dialogue Monday': "I-onna hold jyew!"  My two year old couldn't seem to stand or walk during this week.

4. The new environment causes them to act as if they have been fed intravenously with pure glucose and it has caused a mental block preventing them from remembering ANYTHING they have ever been taught about manners and how to behave!

5. One child hates sand AND water!  The other will not stop throwing the sand!

6. Sand and sunblock do not mix!  Enough said!

7. My two year old found it VERY disturbing to walk in the sand with shoes on and refused to do it the entire week!  She also found that the sand was too hot to walk on without shoes and resorted to "I-onna hold jyew!"

8. A $15 kid chicken tender meal at the locally famous seafood restaurant!

9. Seaweed that made my four year old scream as if he were Superman and it was Kryptonite!

10. The return to daycare is not a pleasant experience!

I could go on and on but I will leave it at that.  We had a reasonably good time but will not choose this experience again for a couple more years.  Maybe next year we will just go to the zoo ;-)

Top 10 Quirks...

You may think that I am strange or you may turn your head a give your fellow reader the 'circle your finger at the side of your head crazy motion'.  Either way, we all have our quirks (def.: a peculiar trait).  Her are...

My Top Ten Quirks:

1. I DO NOT drink after people!! Even my husband.

2. I DO NOT drink the last 2-3 swallows of any drink.  Whether it be a can, bottle or glass, it grosses me out.

3. I can't rest until my house is somewhat clean and straight.

4. I brush my teeth LAST when getting ready.

5. I despise dish rags!  I've stated this before but felt it necessary to re-post!

6. I don't swim anywhere where I can't see what's swimming with me!

7. Ketchup CANNOT go in the refrigerator!!

8. It bothers me when people don't spell correctly or use proper grammer.

9. I don't understand why people can't take off the activation stickers from their debit cards!  It is NOT supposed to stay on the card people!!!

10. I don't like to eat in front of people I don't know well.  It embarrasses me.  Maybe I should surround myself with strangers and then I might lose some weight! LOL!!

Dialogue Monday

Brayley:  "Mommy, their clothes are hanging outside in the rain!  Why are they?"
Mommy:  "They were drying them on the clothesline and they forgot about them when it started to rain."
Brayley: "Oh, gosh!  We need to get us one of those don't we?"
Mommy:  "Well, not really."
Brayley:  "Why? Because we have a clothes drying machine?"
Mommy:  "Yep!  How did you know?  And how did you get so smart?!"
Brayley: "That's just the way God made me!"

Top 10 Tuesday Directions...

Top Ten Tuesday Directions: How do I leave a comment?

Step 1) Look at the bottom of whatever post you’d like to comment on. It will say something like this:
Posted by Candace at 8:30 AM. 2 comments
Sometimes it will not say that. In that case, you’ll see the comments from that one post listed beneath it. Scroll to the bottom and look for it to say this:
Post a comment

Step 2) Now click on the word “COMMENTS” and it will take you to the comments page.

Step 3) Look for the text box at the bottom of the page under the words “Post A Comment.”

Step 4) Type out your comment.

Step 5) Choose an identity with "Comment As".
-If you have an account with “Google/Blogger,” then click on that option. (“Blogger” is the free blogging service we use. Blogger.com is part of the “Google” network.)
-If you have an account with another blog service like Live Journal, Wordpress, TypePad, or AIM, click on the “Open ID” option.
-If you want to type your name and a web site that is not in one of those categories, choose “Name/URL.”
-If you just want to type your name and no web site, simply leave the URL part blank.
-If you want to be “Anonymous,” choose that option.

Step 6) You can click “Preview” if you’d like to see what your comment will look like when it’s published.

Step 7) If you don’t like it, then you can click “Edit.”

Step 8) When you are done, click “Post Comment.”

Step 9) If you’re in the "Preview" mode and are ready, click “Publish.” It will then say “Your comment has been saved and will be visible after blog owner approval” at the top of the page.

Step 10) Wait for your comment to be moderated by me. Comment moderation keeps the spammers away.

Top 10 Reasons I Wish I Was One of My Kids...

Angie from 'Many Little Blessings' blogged her 'Top 10 Reasons I Wish I Was One of My Kids'.  So, here are my...
Top Ten Reasons I Wish I Was One Of My Kids:

1.  They don't have to work!!   For at least 12 more years anyway!

2.  They get to sleep in!!

3.  "They don’t have to worry about bills to pay, property taxes, insurance premiums, groceries, or any of those other “fun” things about adulthood."

4.  The toys are WAYYY cooler now than they were when I was little!!  And yet they would still rather play with a stick and tissue paper!

5.  They can eat absolutely anything that they want and not gain on ounce!!  However, new research claims their future obesity will be ALL my fault!

6.  ENERGY!!  If I could have 1/2 of their energy I would be satisfied!

7.  They get to go to bed SOOO early!!  And with not one care in the world!

8.  Thier dreams are still absolutely attainable!!  They can foresee nothing in their future that will prevent them from doing exactly what they want to do with their life!

9.  Birthday's are TRULY celebrated!!  They haven't reached the age when a birthday is just a reminder of more crows feet and higher cholesterol!

10.  They have the COOLEST parents ever!! LOL!  Nah, our parents were 'cool', too!
