Water...

Our daughter is a strong-willed, tenacious, brother-hitting, tantrum throwing, shoe loving, bow-in-the-hair at all times, princess of a little girl.  Addyson hates to be dirty in any form or fashion.  However, she hates, Hates, HATES water!  The normal hand washing is fine, but when ANY part of her is submerged or even close in proximity to a body of water, she FREAKS!!  As you can imagine, this complicates bath time.  We have tried everything to calm her. Toys, bubbles, washable bath crayons, etc.  and nothing works!  She still, to this day, sits in an infant bath tub because she is even more scared in the regular tub.  Well, the kids got an art easel from Santa Claus this past Christmas.  He even remembered all sorts of markers, chalk and paint.  Brayley decided that today was a great day for himself and his sister to paint.  I wasn't too excited about the idea given the fact that we are stuck inside from the cold and Addyson is 2. So, being the creatively allowing mother that I am, I told him they could paint in the bath tub.  He was SOOOO excited.  So, into the bathtub B and A go.  I gather the watercolor paints and paintbrushes and head to the bathroom hoping for the best.

Brayley enjoyed only about 5 minutes of painting the walls of the tub and then his sister before he was bored.  Addyson, on the other hand, fell in love!  She painted her hand then washed it off, painted her hand then washed it off, painted her hand then washed it off.  It went on and on and on... I could not persuade her with anything to get her to agree to get out of the tub.  The normal 5 minute "I want ay-out" bath turned into a 45 minute watercolor art session.  Brandon and I are thrilled that she might actually start liking water!  :-)

Christmas "Break"

This is a BIG, HUGE
THANK YOU
to Uncle B & Aunt Ashley, MawMaw and Nana & Papa for letting the kids play with them during Christmas "break" (a week long break for the kiddos but not the parents).  We don't know what we would have done without you!  There were some silly moments that took place during this week and lots of fun stories that were shared with us.  However, I do have one photo.  Nana Punkin took this pic of Papa and 'Addy Girl' while they napped in the chair.  For those of you that do not know Addyson's mannerisms, she is not one to let you hold her while sleeping much less snuggle.

New Years Eve 2010

We invited friends and family over for a
Ugly Sweater New Years Eve Party.
Unfortunately I didn't get a picture of everyone, but here are a some of the gorgeous sweaters worn that night.
I am so upset that I didn't get a picture of Amber's sweater sweatshirt. She may have won best sweater but Ashley definitely won best accessory with her Candy Cane Keds!
We had yummy food, Wii games, watched the traditional ball drop in NYC and lots of laughs.
Happy New Year Everyone!!

(If you're wondering, Mac is waiting and watching for his "date" that never showed! LOL!)
